This Saddle Oxford is a great classic, a once ubiquitous American university style from the 1920’s. Like all Saddle Oxfords, it (literally) walks the line between a dressy shoe (because of the plain toe) and a sporting shoe (because of the University and Golf traditions behind this model).

This shoe is made to Sear’s exacting specifications, with triple sole and additional 360 degree “split reverse welt” (storm welt) for water repulsion. This is the classic model in the old tradition of workmanship, a handsome and extremely robust and durable shoe. Notice too the armoured heel which few other Hanovers offer; this is specially ordered by Sears, an improvement to distinguish their offerings. Suffice it to say, few shoes of this construction quality are being made today, certainly not at this price.
