*Vintage STACY-ADAMS 3-Eyelet Wing-Tip Brogue, Circa 1950: 44D
3-Eyelet “Black on Black” Full Brogue Derby
This very nicely made earlier example of the Full Brogue by Stacy-Adam boasts a hand-sewn sole in contrasting stitching and the use of two black leathers, patent over calf to complement the rather bold and dramatic extension of the toe-box. The shoe is from the 1950s but harkens to an earlier time both stylistically and in construction technique and is not, I hasten to add, to be compared to the products of Stacy Adams’s descendent firm, who have long since failed to produce anything qualitatively comparable to this shoe.
Size Details:11D US....10E UK....44.5D Continental, for the medium width foot.
Showing trivial wear to soles, consistent with perhaps one or two wearings and no wear at all to original heels. The tops have several small blemishes to the patent, but visible only upon close inspection. From a practical distance, invisible.
