This very nicely made earlier example of the Full Brogue Spectator by Stacy-Adam uses smooth over suede leather to great advantage both at the vamp and the edges of the quarters (the opening of the shoe). A lovely combination of leathers set off by very discreet brogueing throughout, to compliment the rather bold and dramatic extension of the toe-box. The shoe is from the 1950s but harkens to an earlier time both stylistically and in construction technique and is not, I hasten to add, to be compared to the products of Stacy Adams’s descendent firm, who have long since failed to produce anything qualitatively comparable to this shoe.

The tops are in excellent condition, with hardly visible creasing, remarkable for a vintage shoe this age....in short, a rare example of a delightful shoe. Sold without trees.
