Alligator
Overnight/Travel/Car-Case
Euro 1850This is an eminently luxurious suitcase from between the wars. It’s solid brass locks are marked “English Lever”. As befitting an object of this quality, the interior is lined with Watered Silk, with elastic compartments and padded bottom.
The overall condition is excellent, consistent with age and use, with small but trivial imperfections and some minor wear at corners. The handle shows wear but is perfectly functional. Most important, the alligator skins are in remarkably good condition, supple and soft.
All hinges, clasps and locks are in good working order, absent keys.
Dimensions: 20 x13.5 x 6 inches (51 x 24.5 x 15.3mm)
Finding an object of such virtue, of such beauty, and of this age, in this excellent condition, is unusual, to say the least. This vintage case can be said to be something of a trophy for the collector of exotic leather goods. And perfectly useable too, although I would not check it with the airlines; it will not reappear at the other end, of that you can be sure. But what could be more perfect than to open the trunk of your 1967 Austin Healey 3000 or XK-150 and reveal this glamorous antiquity!
