Hand-Raised Apron, Blue Suede, “Triomphe” Tassel Loafer
Euro 360Carvil was founded in 1952 by Henri Lederman and its signature Tassel Loafer, shown here, the “Triomphe” was soon immortalized on the screen by the star of the day, Lino Ventura and, soon after, in the early 1960s, with the arrival of the New Wave, by its young leading men, Jean-Paul Belmondo and Alain Delon, both favouring Carvil loafers. By the late 1960, Charles Bronson and Cary Grant were wearing Carvil loafers and, by the 1980s, even Michael Jackson appeared at the 8th district boutique.
The present pair is indeed an original “Triomphe” Tassel Loafer, with hand-raised apron, executed in Powder Blue Suede and, judging from the earlier label, dating from the 1970’s.
Size: Continental 40.5D…..UK 6.5E…..US 7.5D, for the medium width foot.
