Presented here are a pair of superb Summer and sporting Oxfords by this great 100 year old firm, the boutique French bootmaker, JOSEPH FENESTRIER, Paris, since 1895. They are, as you can see, a supremely elegant quotation of a familiar classic model, but in “bone white” or “egg shell white” ideal for your Summer wardrobe or in place of your spectators at a sporting event or garden party. It is hard to imagine a more handsome shoe or a more suitable one for fair weather. Notice the contrasting stitching of the GoodYear welt and the non-slip combination heel.

In a world of overpriced, second-rate, glued together (or Blake-stitched) shoes masquerading as luxury under inflated brand names such as Prada, Gucci, Vuitton and others, this minor masterpiece by Fenestrier is the true luxury item. What distinguishes Fenestrier is the superb quality of the leather, the meticulous interior work (which the picture can only hint at) and the unadulterated classic line. All in all, a top, top quality shoe, and the best of the ready-mades to come out of France, and I include the giant Weston in my remark.
