This is an authentic full dress ceremonial slipper of the aristocratic variety, worn by the black rods (Serjeants-at-Arms) in the Houses of Parliament. Suitable, of course for any full dress, fancy dress, black or white tie, smoking or costume wear. A charming variation of, indeed the precursor to, the modern evening slipper.

Ede and Ravenscroft is London’s oldest tailor and robe maker, offering bespoke tailoring, classic ready to wear menswear, as well as academic robes, legal wigs and regalia.

Ede & Ravenscroft has been tailors and robemakers of choice for twelve coronations. Today the firm continues to service royalty, the judiciary, civic authorities, academia and business.
