    “Antiqued” Full Wing-Tip Oxford Brogue
    Euro 340

    E. T. Wright & Company was established 1876 in Rockland, Mass, a family owned business for three generations, and closely held into the 1980 when they began outsourcing, with the introduction of English and, later, Spanish made products that, frankly, did not maintain the standard of their own, earlier production. The firm was sold in 1998 and operated as a subsidiary of a large conglomerate for some years until, at last, milked of it old reputation, was mercifully put to rest in 2009. Their production from the 1980’s and before, however, on a par for quality with contemporary high-end Florsheims, will be remembered fondly by a coterie of loyal clients.

This pair in a polished calf has “antique” highlight for those impatient to achieve patina over time.

Needless to say, this pair dates from the heyday of the firm, a very well made two-tone Saddle Oxford, Goodyear welted with additional Split-reverse-welt (Storm Welt) (Pic.9) and composition all-weather sole and O’Sullivan impact-resistant heel, a shoe as robust as it is handsome.
