This is a vintage shoe from the 1960s. See the horseshoe hand nailing of the heel characteristic of the period. The suede is of a velour quality for which the Church’s group is known and this particular pair is of the less usual darker, chocolate coloured variety of suede; absolutely lovely! The slightly rounded plain toe shows as beautifully under trousers as under jeans. Fully leather lined.

Cheaney makes a perfectly decent shoe today but their current product, responding to the demands of the modern market for ever less expensive shoes, cannot be compared to this and other of their vintage offerings, while still produced by English craftsmen, working under the stringent dictates of traditional shoemaking.

Appears to have been worn a few times only. Original bottoms showing no actual wear. Tops excellent too. Neuwertig. Sold without trees but ask if you require a new, custom fitted pair in Cedar wood.
