The interesting treatment of the leather, a mottled effect achieved through the successive application of dyes, produces a charming “antique” appearance, although the shoe is near to new, having been worn once only.

The founder of the company, an orthopedic surgeon, was focused on bringing uncompromising comfort and healthful structure to the luxury shoe market.  Whether this was successfully accomplished in this Italian-made Blake Stitched shoe remains to be seen. What we do know is that the hand antiquing has produced an effect rarely seen in any but custom/bespoke shoes or the offerings of such luminaries as Berluti or Aubercy, at many times the price. This is certainly a shoe that will distinguish the wearer, elegant but without ostentation.
