First purchased in Brooks’ flagship Madison Avenue store, there charming pumps show their signature “Golden Fleece” logo on a green-over-midnight blue plaid field, a handsome slipper for festive black tie, smoking and lounge dress. This is rather a charming departure from the usual black bow tie “Opera Pump but certainly the last word insouciance for your velvet or brocade smoking jacket, for entertaining at home or out on the town. Of course, it can be worn with a wide variety of dress, formal or relaxed, all the way to jeans. (Very smart with jeans!) Slippers of this type are meant to be light weight and some examples by other makers are not particularly well made. This slipper, made in England for Brooks Brothers, has a sturdy leather sole and full leather heel, ideal for dancing. No doubt it will serve you long and well and most comfortably.
