Milano Shoes, operated in Manhattan’s hippest enclave, the East Village of the 1970’s and 1980’s. Now long defunct, Milano should not to be confused with either the Brooklun or the California firm of the same name. Milano was the source of the most up-to-the-moment fashion forward shoes of the period, echoing the prevalent Carnaby Street styles of the time.

This shoe takes the classical Full Brogue, raises it on a stacked “Cuban” heel and provides a mottled “antique ” patina for those impatient youthful dandies who revered all that was vintage and traditional but who had not had the advantage of the ripening effects of time upon their wardrobes.  Today, these shoes can be seen to be a charming vestige of their time, something for the collector, ideal for the “vintage dresser”.

In terms of build quality, these are exceptionally well made, if not Goodyear welted. The sculpted sole provides a flared foot that promises comfort and, with the stacked heel, a but of extra height for the wearer.
