These masterpiece by Edward Green, executed in a luxurious brown calf for New York’s premiere haberdashers, Paul Stuart, is the prototype for their later “Phineas Cole” line but not to be confused with it. This is a supremely well made boot, closed channel Goodyear welted, lined in glove leather and with the characteristic Edward Green slim waist and beveled arch, a boot too fine for the outback but ideal for town, in short, a dress boot that looks like a fine shoe under trousers and surprises when the wearer sits and reveals that he is wearing an elegant Balmoral boot.
