Patent Leather Formal Evening Slipper
These handsome Evening-Slippers, often called an “opera pump” or “court shoe”, with its Gros-grain full strap is the correct shoe for black tie, smoking, or perhaps best suited to your velvet or brocade lounging jacket, or any other fashion forward formal wear. Of course, it can be worn with a wide variety of other dress, formal or relaxed, all the way to jeans. Slippers of this type are meant to be light weight and some examples by other makers are not particularly well made. This version under Church’s McAfee label for the American market and first sold in church’s Madison Avenue shop in the 1990s, appears to be rather more substantial than most.
Size Details:UK 7.5E.......US 8.5D......Continental 41,5D, for the medium width foot.
Very light wear to original soles and heels, tops showing almost no creasing, interior showing no wear to speak of. I suppose that this shoe was only worn a few times.
