Oliver Moore is one of the few remaining bespoke shoemakers in New York. Founded in 1878 by the eponymous Oliver Moore, the firm remained in continuous family ownership, under the direction of Elizabeth Moore, the widow of Thomas Moore, grandson of the founder, until 1986, when it was bought by Paul Moorefield. Among a long list of celebrities, President Theodore Roosevelt was a client more than 100 years ago. Size: Being a custom made shoe, naturally unmarked as to size but by careful measurements using shoemaker’s lasts, it is seen to be a US 11.5 WIDE….UK 10.5 WIDE……Continental 45 WIDE.  This is a truly wide shoe, ideal if you have been resorting to over-sized shoes to get the width you need. Here is the correct solution to the problem.

Condition: Fine. Tops excellent, showing no wear and minimal creasing. Soles and heels showing trivial wear; even the original cross-hatching is still fully visible.  This shoe has 98% of its life ahead of it. Neuwertig!
