Goatskin, traditionally spoken of as Morocco leather or Kidskin, is used for making fine gloves –the Kid gloves of the Victorian era, still made today- shoes & boots and a variety of accessories and is prized for it softness and surprising durability. Shoes made of Kidskin are know for their superior accommodation to problem or irregular shaped feet. Of course they are a pleasure for any feet.

Barker is one of England`s oldest and finest footwear companies, established in the Northamptonshire village of Earls Barton in 1880 by Arthur Barker. Every pair goes through 165 production stages and takes 6-8 weeks to make, employing traditional shoemaking methods, including hand lasting of the uppers.

This pair is from their 2010 Anniversary Collection, using a lovely pliable “antique” (mottled) Goatskin, lined in calf for strength. Goatskin is exceptionally soft, comfortable and conforms quickly to the foot.
