This would make a breathtaking gift for Madam around the holidays.

Little need be said about this good shoemaker, neither the family run shop in London nor its branch opened in Paris at the beginning of the last century and acquired by Hermès in 1976. John Lobb is of course, the premiere workshop for traditional English Shoes and stands noticeably above even the other superior shoemakers such as Church´s or Crockett & Jones, Alden, Weston etc., and along with Edward Green and (I believe) the old Peal & Co., is in the top category of shoemakers in the world. Ready made shoes from Lobb are in the $1200-1500 category and John Lobb bespoke shoes start at £5000 for shoes and £1000 for shoe-trees, plus VAT 20%. http://www.johnlobbltd.co.uk/pricelist/

The present shoe is a superb example of the great traditions of shoemaking. A daytime sporting shoe for the lady of privileged, a piece of history beyond price.

    Size Details:

Unmarked but consistent with a lady's (UK 5.5E) (US 6.5D), and a European 37,5D, for the mid-width foot. Inside length: 9-1/4 inches, 234mm.

    Shoe Condition:

These marvelous shoes are entirely original. The rubber heel is and was an option chosen by many and a close inspection of the heel reveals that it is a Phillips heel of the period, counter-sunk for nailing. Phillips has been out of business for decades although some of their excellent heels that were still available in some inventories until the 1980s. Soles, of course, original and hardly worn. I do not deal in lady's shoes but this pair is so lovely that I acquired them just to be able to photograph and display them for the interest of my connoisseur-collector clients. The only pair of lady's shoes in my collection and truly wonderful shoes! Some elegant lady will wear these with great pride and pleasure.
