    Custom Made – Circa 1910-1920

The handwork in this shoe, up to and including the hand-sewn sole, is s a testament to the skill of this artisan and a compelling example of early 20th century bespoke shoemaking at its very finest. Overall this degree of hand work is rarely if ever seen today. The 1000 Euro ready-mades of Lobb and Green and Weston do not compare to this shoe. The half-cloth lining and dramatic pointed toe confirm the its early vintage, and the extravagent styling anticipates today’s most “fashion forward” styles by a century. The overall appearance of this shoe is one of ultimate elegance.

This is the last word for a serious collector or an authentic find for a theatrical wardrobe.

    Size Details:

As a custom-made shoe, naturally they are unmarked as to size and no maker's lable can be found but by my precise measurment these are US 9.5D……UK 8.5E…..Continental 42,5D, for the medium width foot.

    Shoe Condition:

Although perhaps 100 years old, these shoes show no effects of age and very modest wear. The original soles are lightly worn only, and, while the heels do show some rounding, they are still serviceable. I have a pair of new pre-war Avon "Stonehedge" heel that would fit this shoe perfectly, but I have left the present heels in the interest of originality. Neverthess, the Avons can be fitted upon your request at no extra cost.
