This particular pair of shoes is another of the great treasures of the period. The quality of the materials, the hand finishing, the fine grain and rich rosewood colour of the choice calfskin, the fine pinking of the borders, and finally the small waist and generous flair of the spade sole make this a refined and dramatic statement which few shoes, even the best custom-made can equal. This shoe has my highest recommendation.
