These handsome Evening-Slippers were bought in the 1980s but the model is timeless. The model is sometimes called an “opera pump” or “court shoe”, and is fitted with a full leather sole, appropriate for dancing and Florsheim’s propriatary rubber heel for stability. The traditional Gros-grain bow is the last word in elegance and the correct shoe for your smoking, for entertaining at home or out on the town. Of course, it can be worn with a wide variety of dress, formal or relaxed, all the way to jeans. Slippers of this type are meant to be light weight and some examples by other makers are not particularly well made. I find this example is as good a product as any other in the field and better than most.
