Brooks Brothers had marketed superb Edward Green shoes under the “Brooks English” and Peal & Co. names from the 1950’s onward to the 1970 when they replaced Green with Crockett and Jones production. In more recent years Alfred Sargent has become the primary vendor, with C&J still producing some. This pair is of the earlier (and superior) Green production. This delightful and dramatic Cap-Toe Oxford Brogue is extremely well made, certainly among the very best made British shoes, in a sleek and classic style in a long tradition. Notice the channeled and skived sole.
