This is Church’s traditional Monk Strap. The model, with its plain front, chisel toe, wide strap, and low-slung buckle defines Church’s monk of the 20th century. It is, of course, their “Custom Grade”, the old and great Church’s, the line of shoes upon which their reputation is based. About the model: the monk strap is purported to be the oldest surviving men’s shoe model, dating back to the Middle Ages, as named, a shoe worn by cloistered monks for their practicality.

Althought the model has been in continuous production even to this day, and once sold for for £395, Euro 550 and US$ 620, the current prices under the new Prada management have gone up an astonishing 40%-50% for the same product, now topping £600, Euro 755, and USD 880.  This is the last moment in history to get your beloved Church’s shoes at something less than even the old prices. Condition: All original soles and heels, lightly worn. 

Size: for the US market, marked 9.5D, thus UK 8.5E….Continental 42.5D, for the medium width foot.
