Evidently, Bally was still producing its shoes in Switzerland at the time this shoe was made  -most of it product today comes from Italy- and was a well known and well thought of brand in Europe and America, during most of the 20th century.

This elegant Plain Front Derby is made from the much sought-after Whiskey Shell Cordovan, a warm medium toned brown, distinct from the common burgundy (or colour 8) in general use. This is closely resembles the colour of an English officers No2 Uniform shoe, indeed, except for being made of cordovan, it is almost exactly the model too.
