This shoe was shown as part of a line of hand-made shoes specially ordered some years ago by Barney’s Men’s Store, New York. (See last picture.) They are not to be confused with the perfectly good but not comparable Harris shoes sold there today. These are truly hand-made, the welt double-needle hand sewn. The leather is of superior quality, a mottled “antique” dark brown, very complimentary to the wardrobe. The undecorated and rather elongated yet chiseled toe is balanced by a 5-eyelet brogued vamp, all in all a handsome modern quotation of a classic derby. $1050 when first sold at Barney’s.
