    Shell Cordovan Full Brogue Oxford
    Euro 320

Angelo de Palo was a bespoke shoemaker to the soigner New York East Side trade in the mid-century, operating in the same block as the original New York Church’s shop and Lefcourt, another important and seminal New York shoe store of the last century.  Some shoes by de Palo, if they were in fairly standard sizes, as is this pair, are believed to have been provided by outside sources, for instance shell cordovans, and this shoe has every ear-mark of an early Alden product. Whatever the exact provenance, it is a fine piece of shell and built to a high standard.

Condition: The original Cat’s Paw heels of the period are still present and in good condition and the leather out-sole has been protected with a brand new Vibram rubber half sole, adding comfort, water-proofing and non-skid properties. Some small invisible repairs to the sewing, else overall excellent.

Size: as a custom shoes, there are no maker’s indications but by my precise measure: US 7.5D…..UK 6.5E…..Continental 40-41.5E, for the medium to somewhat wider foot.
