In wunderschönem Oxblood-Tone aus Pferdeleder, von einem der weltweit besten Gerbereien, Horween-Chicago, zeigen diese Schuhe eine Farbkraft, die sich tatsächlich im Laufe der Zeit immer weiter verbessern wird. Dieses Paar stammt aus der neuen Produktion “Cambridge”, Allen Edmond’s einzigem “Shell Cordovan Oxford” (geschlossene Schnürart im Vergleich zur offenen Schürart eines “Derby”); ein älteres Modell, das seit vielen Jahren nicht mehr hergestellt wurde und erst kürzlich, auf Grund grosser Nachfrage, wieder produziert wird. Meiner Meinung nach der attraktivste Schuh dieser Firma!

Bitte beachten Sie die Doppel-Sohle und den Kombinations-Absatz “McAfee” mit Schwalbenschwanz-Einsatz. Es gibt nur sehr, sehr wenige auf dem derzeitigen Markt, da dieses Modell nur in den USA (nach “special order”) erhältlich ist.

Die beiden am häufigsten gestellten Fragen betreffen die Grössenangaben. Es herrscht leider eine beträchtliche Konfusion zwischen englischen und amerikanischen Grössen und Weiten. Hinzu kommt, dass zwei der bekanntesten amerikanischen Hersteller zu dieser Verwirrung beitragen; Allen Edmonds verkauft in Europa nach englischen Grössenangaben und in Amerika nach amerikanischen Angaben. Der andere Hersteller Alden arbeitet grundsätzlich eine halbe Nummer grösser als die angegeben Grösse. Ich bedenke all diese Varianten und gebe in jeder meiner Auktionen immer jeweils die einheitliche europäische Grösse an; wenn Sie sich danach richten, können wir uns sehr sicher sein. Sollte doch einmal der Fall eintreten, dass Ihnen der Schuh dennoch nicht passt, oder er Ihnen einfach nicht entspricht, dann sind Sie durch meine 100%-ige Garantie geschützt. A beautiful shoe in Oxblood colour horsehide from the best tannery in the world, Horween, these shoes show depth of colour that will only improve with time. With its *Goodyear welted leather sole with the later adition of a thin rubber sol, this is a no-nonsense, no compromise, indestructible shoe for the gentleman and ideal for Winter. Equally suitable for day or evening wear (the dark cordovan colour appears almost black at night) and an absolute basic in the wardrobe. There is no doubt that Allen Edmonds produces among the best-made contemporary American shoes and the best cordovan shoes in the world today. Florsheim, of course, remains the most loved “vintage” producer of Cordovans. Cordovan shoes are a typically American tradition and while others (Crockett and Church’s in England; Vass, Dinkellacker, Reiter in Germany and Hungary), responding to the popularity of this material, have begun to produce cordovans, Allen Edmonds and Alden, two American shoemakers, remains the premiere producer and the most in demand of the modern Shoemakers

This pair is from the new production of the “Cambridge”, Allen Edmonds’ only Shell Cordovan Oxford (closed lacing-as opposed to Derby with open lacing), an older model, many years out of production and only recently brought back by popular demand. In my opinion the single most attractive shoe made by this firm. Notice the double-sole and combination McAfee heel with dovetailed inset. There are very, very few on the market today as the model is only available in the US by special order.

Colour: This is a slighly lighter colour than the usual oxblood, call it a “ripe cherry”, a colour that shows off the already cultivated patina wonderfully. This shoe makes clear why the richness and depth of colour of shell cordovan is so beloved by gentlemen on both sides of the Atlantic. Nothing is superior to a new pair of cordovan shoes except an old pair!

The two most frequently asked questions regard size. There is considerable confusion between English and American sizes and widths. Furthermore the two best known American shoemakers add to the confusion, Allen Edmonds by marketing in English sizes in Europe and American sizes in America, and Alden by oversizing their shoes by a half size. I consider these variation and give the single European size in every listing; go by that size and you will not go wrong. A vendre, une paire de classiques gentilshommes, le Full Brogue Richelieu en Shell Cordovan (cuir cheval) de l’ancienne grande marque américaine, Allen Edmonds. Ces chaussures ont été faites à la main dans leur atelier et peuvent concurancer avec n’importe quelles chaussures américaines ou anglaises. Un seul coup d’oie sur la semelle et leurs talons suffit pour faire évident l’énorme différence. Sans exagérez, nous avons devant nous un exemple de l’art de cordonnier le plus cultivé, une chaussure pour enchanter avec ces détailles raffinés. Avec « *Goodyear Welt », cousue à la main, et doublure de cuir extra souple. Elle représente le summum d’une veille tradition en perdition.
