    Dieses Paar wurde, circa 2000, von dem grossen amerikanischen Schuhmacher Alden hergestellt. Alden hat einen Schuh nach absolutem Massanfertigungs-Standard produziert und ist von einer Qualität -höhe- als fast alles, was man auf dem heutigen Markt finden kann. Die Leisten des Schuhes sind kompromisslos und absolut und sofort an Ihrem hohen Massanfertigungs-Standard erkennbar. Und nicht jeder hat einen Saddle Oxford hergestellt; ein rein amerikanischer Universitäs-Stil aus den 1920ern. Wie alle Cordovan Saddle Oxfords beschreitet er (buchstäblich) die schmale Linie zwischen einem eleganten Schuh (vor allem wegen des “plain toe”) und einem sportlichen Schuh (wegen seiner legendären Universitäts-und Golfsporttradition). Nur wenige Cordovans können mit Farbkraft und Qualität des Horween Cordovan-Leders, das Alden verwendet, konkurrieren. Goodyear welted-rahmengenäht, of course!

    The Alden Saddle Oxford shown here, dating from the 2000s and utilizes the finest Horween (Chicago) Cordovan leather and is Goodyear welted (of course).

    The Saddle Oxford is infrequently seen today and yet it is a great classic, a purely American university style from the 1920’s. Like all Cordovan Oxfords, it (literally) walks the line between a dressy shoe (because of the plain toe) and a sporting shoe (because of the University and Golf traditions behind this model), and very few Cordovans can compete with the richness of colour and even texture of the Horween Cordovan leather used by Alden in this shoe. This is a marvelous classic model in the old tradition of workmanship, a handsome and extremely durable shoe, and this particular shoe is as lovely an example as we are likely to see….my highest recommendation on this item.
    Colour: This particular piece is a lovely ripe cherry color tending toward the oxblood, lighter in sunshine and richer still in lamplight….a beautiful shoe…and uncompromisingly well built, an indestructible shoe, a shoe for the generations.

    Size Details:

    11D US (UK 10E) (European 44.5D), for the medium width foot.

    Shoe Condition:

    Excellent; all original and very lightly used. Showing almost no wear to heels or soles. Top hardly even creased. Near new.
