Many American manufacturers competed for lucrative government contracts for Service Specification shoes and boots and for entry into this demanding area of the trade, “Mil-Spec” footwear, then as today, products had to pass rigorous testing for durability, fit and finish, not to mention, ready to take a smart high-polish with easy maintenance so important to military personnel. This is such a shoe, simple, well-made, straight-forward, highly presentable and ready for the parade ground, embassy guard duty, Military Police, Class A or full formal attire. Needless to say, a handsome shoe for civilian dress. [I regret, this is the only one available in this wide fitting.]
