Keith Highlander produced an excellent quality shoe in its day, similar to those of Hanover and Florsheim, they played an important part in the history of the American shoemaker.

This vintage Plain Front Saddle Oxford by Highlander is far superior in build and finish to most shoes on the market today. This is an indestructible, Goodyear welted Shoe with oak-tanned sole and competes with Florsheim’s best. The construction is unusual for a norwegian style shoe. Rather than the apron being laid on to the front of the shoe, this front is all one piece, the margin being demarkated by an antiqued chain-stitch decoration, a very pleasing effect. Notice too the much desired “spade sole” harkening back to earlier times.
