This is Allen Edmonds most robust boot, suitable on or off road, in every weather, on any surface. It features Allen Edmonds’ own “Commando” style sole with additional 360 degree storm welt (split reverse wely) and an exceptionally soft, comfortable and easy to maintain black suede. After an outing in the worst weather or most challenging terrain, just let dry, brush off, and ready to go again.

It is most unusual to find this or any other boot of this quality in this condition in this large size. Big men or heavy men are proportionally harder on ther footwear but a boot of this solid construction (even the commando sole is Goodyear welted, not simply added to the leather sole) can be expected to serve under the most arduous conditions and for decades to come.

A Navvy, not to be confused with “Navy”, is an old-fashioned, informal British term for a manual laborer performing heavy unskilled physical work. Short for “navigator”, the term originated in the late 18th century during the British Industrial Revolution, after the “navigations” (canals) that these workers were originally hired to dig. A modern “Navvy Cut Boot”  is in the style of these workers’ robust  traditional boots.
