    Cap-Toe Half Brogue Oxford

An extraordinary lovely pair and superlatively well made pair of Half Brogues, absolutely in the English taste by one of the greatest shoemakers in the world, Edward Green …some say the greatest shoe maker, superior to Lobb. I make no judgment between these two titans but the slender lines of Edward Green’s 202 last are very seductive, and the workmanship is indisputably of the highest order. These shoes were made especially in the1990s for Paul Stuart’s New York flagship shop. Unfortunately Edward Green’s production is so limited and their output so quickly sold off, that the Cole-Haan shops found themselves chronically out of stock. Eventually, in the late 90’s, Paul Stuart turned to Grenson, another excellent English shoemaker, to produce their top-line shoes. But the magnificent Edward Greens of the last decade will not be forgotten by the gentlemen who had the good fortune to acquire a pair or more.
Edward Green ready-mades sell for as much as $1400 today++. enquiries@edwardgreen.com
